Who we are
As an integral part of the West Midlands regional Provider Collaborative, REACHOUT we are dedicated to providing exceptional mental health, learning disability and autism services for individuals whose risks to others mean they require either a hospital admission with low or medium security or follow-up from our Community Mental health team.
Our service includes two sites: the Staffordshire site has four wards offering medium secure mental health care for men and a low secure learning disability/differently abled and autism ward. Shropshire has two low-secure mental health units for men.
We also offer a Forensic community mental health team which offers a bespoke service to people leaving any of the mental health wards across the West Midlands or returning from out of the area. This team also offers a service to women.
Our mission revolves around delivering specialised and individualised support to people who are under the care of the Ministry of Justice or have a history of offending and with mental health needs and others who could benefit from our services. We undertake mental health assessments which will inform the type and level of support that they will require and appropriate to their needs. With referrals coming from Prisons, Courts, other Forensic mental health services and Police, we play a pivotal role in providing a holistic approach to mental well-being in the forensic context.

At the heart of our Forensic Mental Health Services Directorate lies a fundamental purpose – to provide local, top-tier collaborative mental health care that empowers service users to take charge of their well-being and mental health recovery. We're committed to aiding individuals in improving their health, taking on responsibility, and mitigating potential risks they might pose. Reducing the likelihood of reoffending and supporting the complex challenges of substance abuse and self-harm to increase the chances of successful rehabilitation and reintegration into the community. We are partnership focused.
